Asthma: Home Remedies for Breathing Problem

Asthma is the condition affecting air tracks in the lungs trigger by inflammation and cell hyper activity. Inflammation as we know is the response process by the body to fight infections and diseases characterize by pain, heat, redness and swelling. 1 # Mustard Seeds Massage: Mustard seeds are high in selenium and magnesium that attribute to its anti-inflammatory action.

How to:

  • Take 2 tablespoons of mustard oil in a frying pan
  • Add 1/4 teaspoon of camphor powder
  • Allow this to warm
  • Gently massage with this oil onto the chest and the upper back while still warm
  • Repeat this several times a day until the symptoms are reduced

2 # Lemon Juice: Lemons are a rich source of vitamin C which is a dietary anti-oxidant it helps in reducing oxidative damage cause to the epithelial lining of the lungs due to inflammation.

How to:

  • Take a glass of water
  • Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and mix well
  • Drink this twice daily

3 # Fenugreek Seeds and Ginger:

How to:

  • Add two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in one litre of normal water
  • Allow it to simmer for about 30 minutes
  • Then strain the liquid
  • Take two tablespoons of ginger paste
  • Place it on a sieve and extract its juice
  • Add one teaspoon of honey and mix all the ingredients well
  • Drink a glass of this mixture once every morning

4 # Honey:  Honey is highly beneficial for asthma patients and its one of the most popular home remedies.

How to:

  • Take honey in a bowl
  • Let the asthma patient inhale the smell of honey
  • This will make the breathing deeper and easier

5 # Indian Gooseberry and Honey:

How to:

  • Take two tablespoons of Indian gooseberry powder
  • Add one teaspoon of honey and mix well
  • Have this mixture once every morning
