Home Remedies for Bedwetting

Bedwetting is a condition when a person unintentionally urinates while he/she sleeps. Although the condition is common amongst children between 3 to 5 years of age it can also affect people of any age.

Although not painful or serious bedwetting can be embarrassing for a child especially if teased by siblings or scolded by parents for it. Bedwetting usually requires no treatment and it stops overtime.

So What Causes Bedwetting?

Children have an immature nervous system that does not alert them that their bladder is full. Some people have a small bladder which is unable to retain the urine that is produced during the night.

In some cases, the child’s bladder matures slower than normal. Heredity is another cause of this condition. Certain medical conditions such as UTI, constipation, kidney failure, sickle cell anemia, diabetes, and epilepsy also result in bedwetting as a side effect.

At times stress can also cause bedwetting among children. If a kid is scared of something like an exam or a bully or maybe his/her teachers it can lead to a lot of anxiety in him or her and bedwetting can be a side effect of the same.

Since this condition usually disappears with time be patient with your child. Do not punish and make sure no one teases your child since bedwetting can have an adverse effect on a child’s self-esteem.

Try out these home remedies to get relief from this condition and help your child strengthen the control over the bladder muscles and get rid of this embarrassing condition.
