Home Remedies to Get Rid of Dry Skin at Home

If your skin has less oil and moisture than the required level then your skin type is dry. This skin will tend to develop wrinkles and lines easily. This skin type also looks parched, ages quicker than normal and flakes easily.

Causes: Some causes for dry skin are bathing in hot water multiple times in a day, swimming, over exposure to sunlight, psoriasis which is the serious medical condition of the skin and sitting for a long period of time in artificially heated or cooled rooms where humidity levels are low.

1. Banana and Honey Home Remedy:

How to:

  • Mashed two bananas in bowl.
  • Add two tablespoons of honey to it.
  • Mix them well.
  • Apply this on your dry skin.
  • Leave as it is for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Then wash it off with warm water.

2. Barley Flour, Turmeric and Mustard Oil Home Remedy: 

How to:

  • Take two tablespoons of barley flour (Jawaar Aata).
  • Add about one teaspoon of turmeric powder (Haldi).
  • Add two teaspoons of mustard oil (Sarson ka Tel).
  • Add a little water to it.
  • Mix them well.
  • Apply this paste on your body before having a bath.
  • Leave it for about 10 minutes and allow it to dry.
  • Scrub the paste off with your palms.
  • Have a bath with lukewarm water after an hour.

3. Egg Yolk Home Remedy:

How to:

  • Take an egg yolk.
  • Apply the yolk on your dry skin.
  • Leave it as it is for about 20 minutes.
  • Then wash it off with normal water.

4. Wheat Flour, Turmeric and Mustard Oil Home Remedy:

How to:

  • Take four tablespoons of wheat flour.
  • Add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder (Haldi).
  • Add one teaspoon of mustard oil (Sarson ka Tel).
  • Add sufficient amount of water.
  • Mix them well.
  • Apply this on your and allow it to dry.
  • Once it dries scrub it off using your hands.
  • Leave it as it is for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Then wash it off with lukewarm water.

5. Honey and Milk Home Remedy:

How to:

  • Take two tablespoons of honey.
  • Add two teaspoons of milk.
  • Mix them well.
  • Apply this on your face & neck.
  • Leave it as it is for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Then wash it off with lukewarm water.

6. Olive Oil or Almond Oil: A gentle massage with olive oil or almond oil helps rejuvenate the skin


7. Water: Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily is one of the best cures for any skin related ailments as it flushes out the toxins from the body. Also use the moisturizer regularly.
